This article is part of our series exploring what exactly the Palau digital residency ID can be used for.
I made my 26th attempt to use the Palau digital residency ID (“the ID”) in January, 2025. .
I tried to use the Palau ID to check in to a Quest Diagnostics location in Las Vegas to have blood drawn for some routine testing.
Result: successful.
Explanation: I went to a Quest Diagnostics location in Las Vegas for some routine testing. The location center waiting room contains a self check-in kiosk that requests your photo identification card.
I followed instructions on the screen, placing my Palau digital residency ID in the designated area for the Quest Diagnostics kiosk to take a photo of both the front and back. The kiosk accepted the ID, and completed my check in.
I then waited another 10 minutes or so until I was called in from the waiting room by a technician with whom I completed the blood drawing processing.
This attempted use case of the Palau digital residency ID for verifying identity at the Quest Diagnostics location is therefore successful.
I’ll continue trying to use the ID, and report the results here on Malakouti Law.
